Syracuse University is conducting a study on stressful events and alcohol use. This study aims to better understand the emotions and thoughts that influence decisions to drink as individuals go about their daily lives.
Researchers are looking for adult drinkers to answer questions about their life experiences and alcohol use. Participation would involve three meetings with the research team as well as 14 days of daily surveys. The first meeting would occur at the beginning of the study and last approximately 3 hours. Then, participants would complete short surveys lasting approximately 5 minutes each every day for 14 days on a smartphone or mobile device as they go about their typical daily lives. The second meeting would occur after the end of the daily survey period and last approximately 2.5 hours. The third meeting would occur six months later and last approximately 2.5 hours. Meetings can occur in-person at Syracuse University or online. The total time commitment is approximately 12-13 hours.
If you are 18 – 65 years old, drink alcohol, have experienced a stressful life event, agree to consent to audio recording, live within the U.S. and have a valid email address, you may be eligible to participate! Participants would be compensated up to $460 for their time and effort.
