Prospective applications are invited to reach out to Dr. Zaso expressing their intent to apply; however, Dr. Zaso does not meet with individual applicants prior to reviewing applications.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to highlight the research they hope to pursue in graduate school and beyond in their application materials, making explicit its fit and connection with our research in the lab. Our lab’s work centers on understanding the reasons for problem alcohol use across the lifespan, with the goal of reducing its harms. Research Assistants
Students, postbaccalaureate trainees, and master’s level researchers are invited to apply for research assistant positions within the IMPACT Lab.
Research assistant responsibilities vary depending upon the lab’s ongoing projects. General responsibilities often include, but are not limited to, recruitment, informed consent, data collection, lab meetings, required trainings, and communication with the research team. There are opportunities for research assistants to develop their own independent research ideas and projects if interested.
Research opportunities for undergraduate students require a two-semester commitment of at least 6 hours/week. Students who plan to pursue post-graduate education are particularly encouraged to apply.
Research Experiential Course Credit (PSY 294-294; PSY 491-494)
Syracuse University undergraduate students, if not funded through SOURCE, are eligible to earn course credit for participating in research (i.e., PSY 291-294; PSY 491-494). Registration must take place before the academic add/drop deadline each term. Reach out to Dr. Zaso if you are interested in obtaining course credit for more information.
