Please note that the lab is no longer recruiting research assistants to begin in Fall 2025.
Students are invited to apply for research assistant positions within the IMPACT Lab. Research opportunities for undergraduate students require a two-semester commitment of at least 6 hours/week.
Research assistant responsibilities vary depending upon the lab’s ongoing projects. General responsibilities often include, but are not limited to, recruitment, informed consent, data collection, lab meetings, required trainings, and communication with the research team. There are opportunities for undergraduate students to develop their own independent research ideas and projects if interested.
SOURCE Funded Research Experience
The IMPACT Lab has a potential opening for a paid undergraduate research experience in Spring 2026 through the Syracuse University Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Engagement (SOURCE) Program. Eligible students must be in their first, second, or third year of study at Syracuse University. Students studying abroad are not eligible during their time abroad. Students may only hold one SOURCE Research Assistant position at a time and typically will not hold both a SOURCE Research Assistant position and a SOURCE Bridge/Fellowship or Honors Program Crown Award. Reach out to Dr. Zaso with any questions on availability!
Research Experiential Course Credit (PSY 294-294; PSY 491-494)
Research assistants, if not funded through SOURCE, are eligible to earn course credit for participating in research (i.e., PSY 291-294; PSY 491-494). Registration must take place before the academic add/drop deadline each term. Reach out to Dr. Zaso if you are interested in obtaining course credit for more information on responsibilities and to obtain approval.
